[6.6.07] - Ebay Sucks - Dont buy from this seller!!!!!
♥ - Okay, so I get my first negative feedback, get this, from a seller I just filed a paypal dispute for never having received an item I paid for.
The negative feedback quotes -
'buyer filing paypal claim 4 no receipt-declined insure option, i have proof mail'
My response -
'Item never received, poor communication, Filed refund. Seller Retaliation.'
I'm rather annoyed. It took this seller a month to even respond to my emails about shipment. To which he simply replied 'i sent it'. I filed the paypal dispute simply because I did not get the item I paid for. How much more simple can it get?
I'm not worried about it damaging my reputation on there, honestly. I mean his articulate skills clearly outshine my response and negative I left him. [sarcasm]
Honestly if that one negative with it's indisputable response is enough to cause me an inability to work with future sellers, then I really shouldn't be buying anything from them anyway.
What really gets me though is Ebay's lack of responsibility in the matter. Or rather their sneaky avoidance of it.
I checked the 'feedback dispute' center for violation of feedback policy and I found this --
'The feedback makes references to Ebay, Paypal, or law enforcement organization investigation.'
Am I wrong in understanding that a 'makes reference to' is a pretty broad generalization. By that standard yes his feedback did violate their current policy.
But this is what I got in response -

If the policy is more specific as your email implies, then the currently displayed policy does not state such. It simply states a 'reference' to the investigation qualifies. In which case my feedback complaint qualifies. I do not feel that it is fair I have to pay another company to possibly withdraw feedback left for me when I had to file for refund of my purchase. The amount to remove the feedback is greater than the item itself.
What safety do I have as a loyal ebay buyer if my reputation can so easily be tainted?
This makes me greatly reconsider my use of the site, as it seems to prove it doesnt care for it's own members.

Honestly, I am tired of all this bull that Ebay keeps pulling. They rarely have anything that is cheap anymore, or worth the effort...as they did when they started. They have monopolized online auctions and money transfers. It's ridiculous. Anybody can say anything about you or do anything to you, but if you want the actions reversed it costs money. If you dont file complaint with paypal within 60 days, you cant file period. If you get negative feedback you have to go to an outside company, pay them, to have the two parties 'talk'. No offense, but if someone left me a negative feedback I think it's beyond the 'let's talk it through' stage, ya know? Besides, even then there's no gaurantee they can remove the negative. If the seller wants to be an ass and refuse it, the secondary company can't. But that's what Ebay tells you to do if you have a problem.
About that policy though..... isn't there somewhere to report Ebay for that? False TOS/Displayed Violations? I'd report them in a heartbeat if I knew who to report them to.
Oh well. I guess the only other option now is to always insure packages and hope the seller wants to do a 'mutual feedback withdrawal'.... hey if I get to live with one measily little negative well guess who else gets to. And yes that was his first negative too. heh. One of the reasons I dont leave feedback until it's been left for me. It seems to work well...unless you run into someone else who does the same thing...then it gets akward. Oh well.

♥ - Dont buy from this seller. This is the jerk that gave me so much grief over that damn book. He's pissed because ebay did finally email me back and basically said that they realized that I paid for the book. Never got it, and the seller refused to resolve the issue. And left retaliatory feedback because I did a dispute through paypal. They said in so many words that actions would be taken against this seller. Oh and to make it worse, paypal ruled in my favor, stating the seller should have gotten some form of receipt to prove shipment. I did apply to mutually withdraw the feedback, and he did accept it. But not without having some last remarks. Shown below.
I am okay with dropping our feedback frenzy, mainly because you otherwise have ggod feedback and I think your unreasonable point of view is just being a different person. AND I was unaware the paypal actually requires tracking ability.
I am sure this rule of theirs is self-serving on their part. To me, since you didn't choose an insurance option, my responsibility morally ends when I put the package in the hands of USPS.
but anyways I'll probably make some changes(increases) in mailing fees in the future to cover the tracking cost. The USPS salutes you (please tell me you don't work for them)....
The 'frenzy' was nothing more than me explaining my 'point of view'. I buy product. Product doesnt arrive. I apply for refund. I buy something then I expect to get it too!?!? Holy cow, how dare I!! I guess I'm just different. My reply back to that was rather rude. But at this point, why should I care.
I know...I was very much so considering leaving it up, but honestly he already had five positives stacking up above my negative, with glowing responses. Mine kinda got pushed to the bottom...whereas his negative to me...is right on top, since I dont do as much ebaying as he does apparently.
Not to mention, it took ebay three emails from me to even realize I was the buyer of the situation, they kept referring to me as the seller up until someone over there actually read the email. But by that time I had already filed for a mutual feedback withdrawal and I didnt know how to cancel it.
It was a big mess of bad timing.
His 'not my problem' attitude is what pisses me off. And how it was 'obviously' my issue and lack of intelligence, and his attempt at blaming me for his intent to raise his prices for future bidders. Even AFTER both companies ruled in my favor. Must mean I work for the post office.

I would like to give my buying experience review for fellow FakeHair buyers/sellers. In regards to the following member that I did a transaction with.

Negative - This transaction was for two sets of hairfalls, paid for through paypal August 26th, 2006 and then paid a second time December 9th, 2006 for faster shipping, since our original plan was my driving up to get them but I had to change that and decided on having them mailed. With the understanding prior to closing the deal beforehand that I would need both falls by the end of the year for several photoshoots. Models I would be posing with were going to be leaving the country for several years and I would need these before they left in order to do the shoots. I still have not received my falls. Though the seller has been in contact with me, and each time I inquire about the falls I'm given the explanation that she has 'forgotten' to mail them, and promised to have them out by the end of the week. Each time Im given this excuse, the last excuse she gave me was that she was in a car accident. I'm sorry but after this long it's very hard to believe it, and even if it did in fact happen it doesnt excuse the fact she did not send up until that point. And now eight months later I still do not have the falls.
My last communication with this seller I had to threaten reporting her to paypal, the BBB, the USPS for mail fraud, as well as a lawyer if I did not receive a full refund, which totals over $200, or the falls. I gave her until March 6th to give me an answer either way, which she replied back with, "You will get them by Friday." Friday came and I received nothing, again. Though she continues to post Ebay sales on her journal regularly. She did finally give me a delivery tracking number, but not the shipping method she 'promised', and now my due-date is Wednesday.
Because of this transaction I am unable to do four photoshoots, two of which were with a dear friend who is now in two weeks leaving for Japan for three years.
This entire experience has made me very bitter towards trusting LJ/Ebay sellers in general. And has cost me not only time, money, but precious memories I hoped to capture before lifechanging events. Had I not made myself clear during the first emails discussing these falls, and expressed the urgency in which I needed these falls I wouldnt be so angry.
I am also aware that I did wait this long before taking drastic measures. But I also wanted to take into account the fact it would take time to make the falls, and mail them. It was around December that I started getting concerned, since our 'due date' was approaching rapidly. I went several weeks after she told me she was mailing them (the first time being the day I paid the shipping), each time, trusting that she had and giving them time to get here before inquiring about them. Only to find that she hadnt. It was then I realized I had to 'check the status' of the falls every few days.
I would not recommend this seller AT ALL. And even though I now do have a tracking number and may very well get my hairfalls, there is no guarantee or a point.The photo shoot they were intended for will not happen for several years now, if at all.
If anyone would like to see the email correspondence between this seller and myself, I have no problem posting them upon request.

After posting that, she finally did mail me the falls, but only after a great deal of email wars. When I got them I was Horrified.
-I had hand painted beads to be placed onto the dreads, mailed them, and even had her confirm that she received them. they were missing.
-There were supposed to be two falls. One black and red the other pink and black, each specific lengths. 24" and the other pair 30". Neither were.
-They were supposed to be attached to clips. They were, by being sewn directly to hairnets which she draped over the hairclips. Which wouldnt have been such a bad thing, had she not sewn it only to one side, making the things top heavy and impossible to keep in my hair. That and the clips were broken.
-The dreads were coming apart and were not sealed at the ends.
I emailed her back furious. She didnt seem to notice until I said the clips teeth were broken, and we reached a semi-compromise. I demanded that she give me a $70 refund due to how much work I would have to do to get these things to work. She refused at first but finally gave in. Her 'idea' was that she would report to the post office due to damage in shipment. Since the clips teeth probably broke during shipment. I have photos of the package before I opened it, and there is a huge gash in the side. (The fact she used christmas wrapping paper turned inside out probably didnt help protect the falls.)
-My refund was promised by April 8th. I still do not have it. And after posting about the event in my personal journal I miraculously received an email from her stating she only received 20 dollars as a refund from the post office. And was still battling with them. I emailed her back pointing out that she promised to refund me the $70 whether the post office did or not.....I have yet to receive a response.

Note the length again, and how sparse the dreads are. Granted they are smaller. But 'eseme' had to sew a few dreads together on the new clip to keep the clip from showing through the dreads. I will eventually buy single dreads and fill them in. Just dont have the energy to do it right now.

Okay, this is a combination of some of the more interesting emails I received from this one girl, Bella.
For those of you who do not know. On Livejournal.com, there is a large selling community.
Due to the high prices of ebay, many sellers have resorted to posting in 'selling communities' showing their merchandise.
It's actually pretty easy and very fun. And no where near as expensive.
The only drawback is the fact that unlike ebay, there isnt anything protecting the buyer from being stolen from.
So many buyers have resorted to 'feedback' communities, as well. It's actually pretty easy with so many people coming up with the rules and guidelines. If you watch yourself you can enjoy it without problem.
Then there are the girls like Bella.......
Bella created a journal account specifically to steal hundreds of dollars worth of merchadise from people. By creating feedback and advertising her items for sale or trade. She jipped several girls out of their stuff/money.
I was one of these girls.
Fortunantly there are some laws that will protect girls like me who have been scammed over the internet.
the IFCC, as well as filign a complaint with the post office can cause many problems for the theif. Such as not allowing any mail to be delivered to the person anymore.
This girl is just weird, and not very bright. And down right annoying.

There were more. She emailed me five times a day for a week on whether I got the package, each time I told her I would let her KNOW when I got it. And not to clog my inbox with pointless nagging.
It got to the point where I told her if she kept emailing me, that I would be forced to block her from my email account.
She then started making comments along the lines of , 'You lied about any charges just to trick me into sending your stuff back!'
Am I the only one who finds that statement scary??
Anyway, I told her that it would take a while for them to send her a comfirmation letter. Because I have done this before. Well.... two months later, apparently she forgot about the incident.

I find it funny that you wish to finally deal with this NOW, after you
realize my allegations and attempts were not false.
If I recall correctly I did mention to you several times that it would
take a while for the post office to go over the complaint before
formally contacting you.
I believe your exact words were - 'You lied about the charges just to
trick me into sending your items back.'
Very noble words, I must say. Im sure your mother is very proud of you.
I did actually get the items two weeks after our last correspondence.
The charges that I have filed are completed and over with.
Unfortunantly for you though I know of at least three other girls who
had filed charges only days after i did and have already received their
acknowledgement letters stating you would be informed of their charges
against you as well.
And I know those girls are still waiting on either their items back, or
a refund. So their cases are still open.
Hopefully you will believe me this time, when I say that you ARE held
accountable for your actions on the internet, and there are consequences
for them. It's not a laughing matter.
By the way, since we're on the matter of internet fraud. I think I
should warn you that direct linking (or what's known as stealing
bandwidth from another site - because believe it or not those website
owners have to pay to host those images and pay everytime those images
are seen) to other website's background images for your LJ, that are
copyrighted is also a situation that can be dealt through the IFCC. And
frankly I think you've had enough charges against you for one year.
Im glad you're finally owning up to your mistakes, but frankly if it takes having charges filed against you to realize how bad you messed up.
Then I dont think you're really sorry for what you did, but rather that
you got caught for it.

What that means is if I send the letter BEFORE 45 days, they will toss
it to the side and the case will remain open.
They gave me 45 days to resolve the matter. Whether the matter is
resolved already or not doesnt matter. And if i send it before that,
will not close the case because that is how their system works.
